how to access BPM MetaDATA

for one of my requirement , I want to create a metadata variable and access that variable across all services call. is there any feasible way to set/access meta data variable?

You can leverage shared business object to do that, or have instance variables hold it and access it with api cals, can you please elaborate so that more specific solution can be suggested
