How can we determine the database type(db2/SQLServer/Oracle) for current environment dynamically ?

In 8.6 version at least there is a system service called "SQL Get Database Type" which returns a variable of type "SQLDatabaseType" which has all the information regarding the underlying DB, this can be useful in developing generic applications which will adapt their queries to the connected Database Type.
